England boss Roy Hodgson was hit with an extraordinary public snub on his return to former club Liverpool.
Ex-Liverpool boss Hodgson was left fuming after he was denied an invitation to the chairman's suite at Anfield.
Hodgson, who served as Liverpool boss for six months, was also refused access to the directors' box during the game against Manchester United.
The 66-year-old Three Lions boss, there to assess his England players, was so angry at his treatment he considered leaving Anfield at half-time.
Hodgson made his feelings known to Liverpool staff and was ready to walk out of the ground at the interval, after losing his temper at the humiliating way in which he was treated.

But after discussions with Anfield officials, Hodgson decided to return for the second-half, leaving five minutes before the end of Liverpool's slender 1-0 win over champions United.
A member of staff tried to placate Hodgson during the first-half, claiming a "clerical error" was the reason he was denied admission to the VIP area where guests and executives sit at Anfield.
But Hodgson rolled his eyes at the reason given for his remarkable snub and declined an invitation to move to the directors' box, preferring to sit on a row reserved for Liverpool scouts, adjacent to the Press Box.
While stars including comedy actor James Corden and executives from Manchester United enjoyed the luxury afforded to VIPs, former Liverpool boss Hodgson was treated like an outcast at the club he managed from June 2010 to January 2011.
