Former Premier League bosses Roberto Di Matteo and Roberto Mancini have been lined up to take over at Galatasaray - who could turn to Didier Drogba as caretaker manager.
The Turkish giants, currently 11th in the League, sacked Fatih Terim earlier this week after contract talks broke down.
Mancini, 48, had been the early favourite to take over after his sacking by Manchester City, but the 2011-12 title winner's wage demands have seen the Istanbul side switch to Di Matteo.
The former West Brom and Chelsea boss, who led the Blues to European Cup glory in May last year but got fired six months later, had been tipped to take over at Sunderland.
He decided against a move to Wearside however, and a two-year deal is understood to be available in Turkey.
With talks still ongoing, Galatasaray's former Chelsea striker Drogba has emerged as a possible candidate to hold the fort.
Gala play Caykur Rizespor at home in the league on Saturday.
Terim steered the club to back-to-back Super Lig and Super Cup titles between 2011 to 2013.
But they are currently mid-table and were hammered 6-1 at home by Real Madrid in the Champions League last week.
