Super Eagles winger Babatunde Michael scores second goal in a week for Volyn

The Nigeria international scored his second goal in a week to help his side to a first home victory in Ukraine
Super Eagles winger Babatunde Michael scored his second in as many matches on Friday. Michael who represented Nigeria at the last Fifa Confederations Cup scored the lone goal and match winner for Volyn against Illichivets at the Avanhard Luts'k stadium.
After scoring last Sunday away to Arsenal Kyiv, the 20-year-old Nigerian scored his second goal of the season in the 13th minute of the encounter when he tapped in a cross from the edge of the box to hand his side their first home win of the season.
The former Kryvbas winger who has not been part of the Eagles setup since the Confederations Cup told Goal that he hopes to continue his rich vein of goal scoring form to earn a recall to the national team.
“I am playing with more freedom now and I'm enjoying my new role behind the striker,” Michael told Goal.
“I wish to keep scoring for my team so I could get back into the Eagles again. We have a critical game against Ethiopia which I believe we will win to qualify for the World Cup,” he concluded.
Volyn are currently placed tenth on the Ukrainian log with 12 points. ------------------ goal.com
