The Rock ranks 25th on Forbes ‘Most Powerful Celebrities’ 2013 rankings
When The Rock entered Hollywood originally, it seemed like the sky was the limit. His fans loved his action movies and he also threw in some quirky roles to go along with it, learning all he could. He then hit the big time with more family oriented movies, but when his core fans began to tune out those movies, and “The Tooth Fairy” was a flop, The Rock switched things up.
He went back to action movies and then became the band-aid for dying franchises. It is mostly thanks to his efforts in saving both the “Fast and the Furious” and “G.I. Joe” franchises that helped The Rock become a powerful man in Hollywood, helping make the studios millions of dollars. Next up, The Rock will play Hercules in a Brett Ratner movie and then he is rumored at hitting another franchise, playing opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in “Terminator 5.”
For his take on his ranking as the 25th most powerful celebrity in the world, The Rock talked about starting out wrestling in flea markets and alluded that hard work will always pay off with the hashtag #EmbraceTheGrind. The Rock ranked higher on the Forbes Most Powerful Celebrities list than Tom Cruise, Mark Wahlberg, Will Smith and Donald Trump. -------------------- examiner.com
