Posted: May 19, 2013
Erstwhile Super Eagles midfielder, Henry Nwosu has urged the team to
stay focused ahead of the FIFA 2014 World Cup qualifiers in June and the
Confederations Cup.
The African Champions have a busy schedule ahead of them, with two important qualifying fixtures against the Harambee Stars of Kenya and the Brave Warriors of Namibia in June.
They will also participate in the FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazi,l where they will compete in Group B alongside current World Champions, Spain, Tahiti and Uruguay.
However, Nwosu is adamant Stephen Keshi’s men can come out successful from the busy engagements if they are properly focused on the task ahead of them.
“The Coach Stephen Keshi led team must ensure the they are committed during their all important World Cup qualifier games against Kenya and Namibia as well as the Confederations Cup.
“The boys failed to deliver the maximum three points in Calabar due to lack of confidence and belief.
“The players need to be united and not mind the off camp issues surrounding the team, if they want to make it to Brazil next year.
He further stressed that Nigeria Football Federation must encourage the the players and help to avoid distraction from the team.
“The Nigeria Football Federation must also play their part in encouraging the team and also ensure there is no distraction for the team,’’ he concludes. ------------------------- Complete Sports
