Two Home-based stars arrive, three local boys dropped
Two foreign based players have added up to Adel Amroucheís numbers in the Harambee Stars training camp as they prepare to face off with Nigeria in a crucial 2014 World Cup Qualifier at the Moi Kasarani Stadium on June 5th.
Jamal Mohammed and Patrick Osiako are the latest foreign based players to join Adel Amroucheís camp after Oman based Kepha Aswani and the Azam duo of Jockins Atudo and Humphrey Mieno. The rest were expected to start trickling in from last night.
Coach Amrouche has also confirmed the unavailability of South Africaís David Gateri who is injured and Ayub Timbe who chose to pull out of the match.
Jamal and Osiako are in and it is a plus to my squad. It is very disheartening to lose several players with injury. Rama is out for three weeks and so is Gateri. Timbe and Mariga will not be coming as well, Mungai (Kiongera) has been injured for long, Dennis is out and so is Arnold. It is a tough one,î Amrouche said.
Meanwhile Amrouche has dropped three players from the team. KCB forward Jacob Kelli, Azamís Humphrey Mieno and Sofapakaís Eugene Asike have all been dropped from the team.
"Kelli is a little bit out of form and so we decided to rest him but we will have him after the Nigeria match. Mieno is injured and so we had to give him a rest while I picked Atudo over Asike because I was impressed more with his abilities," Coach Adel Amrouche said.
The Coach says he will use the three day serene training camp in Naivasha to sharpen the team's claws as he seeks to upset Nigeria in Nairobi.
"Of course, we are a little disadvantaged because we have so many injuries to our key players as well as Origi and Oliech missing. We are determined however to be the best of the day and we hope to use this camp to get the best out of ourselves," Amrouche added. --------------------- Complete Sports
