Somdev crashes out of French Open, outplayed by FedererParis: Somdev Devvarman was mercilessly beaten by second seed Roger Federer as the Indian crashed out of the men`s singles event of the French Open, here on Wednesday.

Federer took out Somdev for the loss of just four games as the 17-time Grand Slam winner handed the Indian a crushing 6-2, 6-1, 6-1 in the second round in just one hour and 12 minutes.

The only time Somdev looked like putting up a fight against Federer was in the fourth game when he earned two break chances but squandered both.

Somdev could never play his baseline game as Federer often approached net, stood a like a wall that could not be breached easily.

In the first two games, Somdev could not earn even a single point and it was in the third game when he held at love that he got on board.

It was a one-way traffic as Somdev, who usually fights till the end, could not present any challenge to his way far superior opponent.
