Westerhof: Eagles Roast Malawi 3-0
: Aug 27, 2013
Westerhof was in charge of the Super Eagles between 1989 and 1994, leading the senior national team to the Africa Nations Cup triumph in Tunisia in 1994 and the World Cup finals in the United States of America same year.
With the Super Eagles slated to slug it out in the last group game that will determine which of the teams will progress to the knock-out stage of the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup finals, Westerhof who spoke from his Netherlands home on Monday insists Nigeria have all it takes to dust Malawi in the game.
"Super Eagles playing Malawi in Calabar? That's a good match. Eagles will win 3-0," Westerhof predicted with conviction.
"The Eagles are African champions. Nigeria has good players. Keshi knows what to do. He played under me and he learned well from me. He's done so well so far and he'll take the Eagles to the next World Cup."
"Malawi will not stop the Eagles. Nigeria will win 3-0 and go to the next round and then the World Cup," the 'Dutch-Gerian' posited. ------------------ complete sports
