Sneijder left out of Netherlands squad again

The Galatasaray playmaker has once again missed out on a call up to the national side for World Cup qualifiers against Estonia and Andorra

Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal has opted not to select Wesley Sneijder in the squad for next week’s international double header.

The 29-year-old midfielder has featured for Turkish champions Galatasaray in each of their three games this season, but has been left out of the Oranje’s 21-man roster for the World Cup qualifiers against Estonia and Andorra.

The former Ajax, Real Madrid and Inter star was also an absentee for the friendly against Portugal earlier this month.

PSV defender Jeffrey Bruma has received the call, whilst team-mate Jeroen Zoet has been picked for the first time.

Van Gaal’s side sit pretty at the top of Group D in World Cup qualifying, with a 100 per cent record from their six qualifying fixtures so far.

The Dutch will confirm a place at Brazil 2014 if they win both of their games.
