Rangers Draw Etoile In Confed. Group Stage

Enugu Rangers have been drawn against Tunisian side Etoile Du Sahel in Group A of the CAF Confederation Cup last eight, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

The Flying Antelopes who eliminated another Tunisian side CS Sfaxien 1-0 on aggregate to get to this stage of the competition, also have Stade Malien of Mali and St. Georges from Ethiopia to contend with in the same Group A.

The team coached by Okey Emordi will open their campaign with a trip to Tunisia to face Etoile Du Sahel on the weekend of July 19-21.

It would be recalled that Super Eagles keeper Austin Ejide, was in goal when Etoile defeated Julius Berger 3-0 in Tunisia in 2003, to win this genre of African clubs competition then known as Cup Winners Cup. Berger won the first leg 2-0 at the MKO Abiola Stadium Abeokuta.

Rangers, along with Globacom NPFL table-toppers Kano Pillars crashed out the of knockout stage of the 2013 CAF Champions League.   ------------------------- Complete Sports
