faint Champions League hopes alive
Inter manager Andrea Stramaccioni
has said his must maintain their consistency and build on their 2-0 win
over Sampdoria at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Wednesday evening. Rodrigo Palacio scored twice for the Nerazzurri as they moved within seven points of their city rivals AC Milan.
And although the Inter boss praised his side's performance, he said the team must now follow up the display with similar results.
“It was important to win today and the lads knew that," he told reporters after the match.
“After Tottenham and Juventus, where we made steps forward in terms of performance, it was crucial to move forward in terms of result too. It is essential that we maintain consistency.”
The Inter boss was also full of praise for young Sampdoria striker Mauro Icardi, who they have been linked with previously.
“He is one of the best young players in Serie A at the moment,” Stramaccioni added. ------ goal.com
