Posted: Apr 29, 2013
Super Eagles midfielder, Mikel Obi was left on the substitutes’ bench
against Swansea as referee Mark Clattenburg tookcharge of a Chelsea
match for the first time since last autumn’s race row involving the
Nigeria midfielder.
Clattenburg was cleared of using “inappropriate language” towards Mikel, who was not one of the four changes to the starting XI following Thursday’s 2-1 win at Basel, with Juan Mata, Gary Cahill, Oscar and Demba Ba recalled in a team featuring John Terry in back-to-back matches for the first time since February.
Eden Hazard, who was banned after kicking a ball boy at the Liberty Stadium in the Capital One Cup semi-final earlier this season, also continued in a match Chelsea won 2-0 to reclaim third spot on the log. ----------------- Complete Sports
