Too late! Barca's David Villa looking to force move, but Arsenal ship has sailed
The World Cup's coming and classy benchwarmers are desperate
to get regular action - but the Spain ace has missed the boat at
Emirates
Barcelona striker David Villa will try to force a move to save his World Cup - but may have missed his chance to go to Arsenal.
Spain superstar Villa, 31, was a January target for Arsenal and was keen to try and get more regular football with next year's World Cup in mind.
But Barcelona refused to sell despite having enquiries from Arsenal and Manchester City - and yet he has still continued to be a bit-part player under Tito Vilanova.
Villa wants assurances that he will get more chances next season or he will ask Barcelona to let him go to try and revive his chances of reaching next summer's tournament in Brazil.
But Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger's No.1 target is now Fiorentina's Stevan Jovetic and Villa's age may also count against him and the chance looks to have passed.
