Emenogu Gets Egyptian Opponent, Said
Posted: Apr 25, 2013
World Boxing Organisation (WBO) International light middleweight
champion, King Davidson Emenogu, will defend his world title against
Abdumonem Said of Egypt on Friday, May 31, in Abuja.
The fight will see the Nigerian pugilist aiming to become the first man to upstage Said who is yet to taste defeat in 10 fights.
Speaking on his expectations from the fight, Emenogu said: “I am not intimidated by Said record; all I am concerned about is to be in good shape for the fight and then everybody will see that I am good to go.
He has a nerve-breaking record, no doubt about that; and the fight is about one month away. I am back in training but I don’t want to sound overconfident, but all I can say for now is that the end would justify the means.”
Other bouts expected to take place on the same day include a super middleweight contest between Steve Bendal of the United Kingdom and Isaac Ekpo of Nigeria, while in the welterweight category, Joseph Pigford of the United Kingdom will take on Pelumi Sodubi of Nigeria.
The featherweight contest is an all Nigerian affair between Dare Oyewole and Waidi Usman. ------------------------- Complete Sports
