Wanyama: Super Eagles Will Fall

Wanyama: Super Eagles Will Fall

By James Agberebi:

Harambee Stars Stand-in skipper Victor Wanyama is upbeat that they will defeat the Super Eagles in tomorrow's 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

“We started well against Nigeria in Calabar and we therefore, expect to continue with the same performance at home. Overall, we dominated proceedings in Calabar and scored a wonder goal through Francis Kahata," the Celtic forward tells Cafonine.com in an interview.

“We were let down by lack of concentration that allowed Nigeria to level matters. We want to keep on with that spirit and looking at the players in camp, they have strong belief that a win is possible.

“The result on March 23 in Calabar has certainly given us a lot of confidence. Furthermore, Nigeria now respect us because they understand we are no pushovers. There is a huge possibility we can beat them at home.

“All we need to do is to have 100 percent concentration, make use of our chances and we should get the victory. I therefore urge fans to turn out in large numbers and support the team.”

Wanyama woukd also play down the absence of first choice goalkeeper, Arnold Origi and skipper Dennis Oliech.

“The two players are no doubt key figures to our campaign. Origi brings into the team great confidence and passion while Oliech is always capable of doing anything in a match.

“However, this is a team and those who get the opportunity must represent those who are absent and get positive results for the sake of everyone.” ---------------- Complete Sports
