    M. Silva

Didn't have anything to do other than intercepting a cross at the beginning of the match.
  • Sebastián Coates

    Sebastián Coates

Struggled a bit with Chong Hue's speed but had a quiet game in general, was sharp when having to intercept long balls.
  • Alvaro Pereira

    3

    Alvaro Pereira

Had acres of space in midfield but never seemed to understand what to make of them. Not that he had a bad game but he has lost some of his touch.
  • Matías Aguirregaray

    Matías Aguirregaray

Blatanty dove for Uruguay's first penalty and then was deinitely fouled inside the box for the second. His forays in the opposite box were always dangerous.

    A. Scotti

Missed a penalty and was then sent off in the span of two minutes. Nightmare.

    Walter Gargano

Was pretty usefu as a link between defense and attack beside his usual recovery skills. Had a decent game.
  • S. Eguren

    S. Eguren

Felt comfortable with the ball and tried to pick up Hernández several times with through balls. Decent game as well.
  • N. Lodeiro

    1

    N. Lodeiro

One can imagine that against such a limited team, Lodeiro's skill would impress. But it didn't happen. He scored Uruguay's fifth goal though.
  • Diego Pérez
    1
    0

    Diego Pérez

Not many times in his career has this central midfielder has had so much influence offensively as today. He was probably Uruguay's best player beside Hernandez
  • G. Ramírez

    0

    G. Ramírez

He wasn't at his best either, and was constantly fooled by the Tahitian centre-backs when trying to win the ball back. Disappointing,
  • Abel Hernández

    3

Abel Hernández Top of the Match

Was very impressive during the first half with his speed and physical play. In the second he disappeared a bit but scored his fourth with a penalty kick. Man of the match.

    Gilbert Meriel

Saved a penalty and denied Uruguay over and over. Despite receiving eight, he was absolutely fantastic for Tahiti and could have earned himself a trial in Europe.

Tehevaril Ludivion Flop of the Match

Was deservedly sent off for a second bookable offense as he pulled Aguirregaray after mis-hitting an easy ball. He got a standing ovation by the fans though.
  • Nicolas Vallar

    Nicolas Vallar

Tahiti's captain and the leader of the defense. He has obvious limitations but his charisma was part of the fairy tale of the Islanders.
  • Jonathan Tehau

    Jonathan Tehau

He was very lively and did a couple of nice tricks with the ball. He should improve on his positional play though.

    Vincent Simon

The diminutive right back tried to cover for his obvious techinical deficiencies with a heart the size of a lion. The master of the overlap in Tahiti.

    Henri Caroine

Made a big effort as his teammates did. It wasn't enough of course but he will get great memories from the competition.

    Lorenzo Tehau

The striker tried his best to fight with the rocky Uruguayan centre-backs. He ended up exhausted and had to be substituted.

Another of the Tahitian heroes, he will have enormous souvenirs from his time in Brazil.
  • Marama Vahirua

    Marama Vahirua

Tahiti's heart and soul. He was everywhere, trying to link up the play, tracking back, asking for the ball. Amazing job by the veteran playmaker.
  • Steevy Chong Hue

    Steevy Chong Hue

If someone deserves a trial in Europe, it's him. The 23 year old winger has the physical abilities to develop into a very interesting players. He just needs to polish his game.
