Liverpool confirm Iago Aspas signing as Spanish hitman joins from Celta Vigo
Protracted move for Spanish frontman finally confirmed as Liverpool announce deal on their website
Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Iago Aspas.
The Celta Vigo forward has joined - subject to international clearance - for an undisclosed fee thought to be around £7.7million and what the club describe as a 'long-term' contract after passing a medical at their Melwood training ground.
The confirmation comes following a protracted set of negotiations between the two sides that threatened to be blocked by the Spanish Football Federation.
The 25-year-old, who can play in midfield or upfront, scored 12 goals for Primera Division club Celta last season.
The Spaniard becomes the Reds' third acquisition of the summer following the confirmed signings of ex-Manchester City defender Kolo Toure and Luis Alberto from Sevilla.
