Manchester United are copying Bayern Munich, and it's finally coming together says Bryan Robson
Fergie decided at the turn of the millennium that the Bavarian giants
knew how to run a club, and his vision is now becoming reality

Manchester United legend Bryan Robson has revealed Sir Alex Ferguson copied Bayern Munich to build his Old Trafford empire.
Former England captain Robson said that Fergie decided to emulate the
Germans’ idea of getting former players involved behind the scenes to
help build a lasting legacy.
Ferguson admired the way Bayern legend Franz Beckenbauer recruited
former stars to important roles within the Champions League winners.
And now, with Ryan Giggs, Phil Neville and Nicky Butt all involved
with coaching the Red Devils, Robson believes Fergie’s plan is finally
in place.
Robbo, 56, said: “About 12 or 15 years ago, something like that, Sir
Alex looked at Bayern Munich and thought it was great they always had
somebody involved – the experience from top international players – that
bind a football club in whatever area. Uli Hoeness is now president of Bayern, having been a key player in his time

“Obviously David Moyes thinks that is a very important role as well
because on day one he brought in Phil and Ryan and I think that is good
for the club.”
Robson, who captained United and England, also revealed that he
thinks new manager Moyes will benefit from having Fergie available for
advice.
He added: “What is good for David is that Sir Alex will be in the
background, and I think if he wants any advice on any advice, then Sir
Alex will be happy to speak to him and give him his opinion.
“But I don’t think Sir Alex – with the character that he is – will interfere with David Moyes one little bit.
“I’ve always been impressed by David – he’s a down-to-earth guy, he’s
meticulous about the way he does his job and that’s why I think he will
do well.
“I think he’s taken over a really solid squad who are confident after winning the title last season.
“He’s very ambitious and level-headed so I think with just a little
bit of tweaking to the squad, he will have a really good season.
“The Premiership this year is very interesting because of the changes at clubs like Chelsea, Manchester City and ourselves.”
Robson, known as Captain Marvel, also said that he believes Moyes
will be keen to collect the Community Shield to get his Old Trafford
career off to a good start and build confidence for the season ahead.
He added: “Coming to a club like Manchester United gives David a great chance of winning something.
“You can’t disrespect Wigan because they’re a good team with some
good players, but the Community Shield is a good chance for the players
to go and get the confidence and perform from the start of the season.”
United will take on FA Cup winners Wigan on Sunday 11 August at Wembley Stadium in the season's curtain opener.
