The stage is (literally) set, but Spurs' anger over Spaniards jumping the gun could delay world-record move until the weekend
Furious Gareth Bale has told Spurs chairman Daniel Levy he won’t allow him sabotage his world-record move, writes Darren Lewis in Madrid.
The 24-year-old Welshman - set to become the most expensive player ever with an £86million transfer to Real Madrid - remains stunned at being ordered back from Spain to the club’s Enfield HQ by Levy earlier this week. But Bale blanked training with the north Londoners on Tuesday and is understood to be insistent that he would not be turning up on Wednesday morning either.
