Villas-Boas delighted at Lennon return

The England international has been sidelined for 11 games with a foot injury sustained on the opening day of the season against Crystal Palace, but has resumed full training
Aaron Lennon has resumed full training with Tottenham this week, much to the delight of manager Andre Villas-Boas.

The England winger has been out of action since picking up a foot injury on the opening day of the season against Crystal Palace, but returned to full training during the international break.

And Lennon, 26, could return to the Tottenham team when they play Aston Villa at Villa Park on October 20 when the Premier League resumes - a prospect Villas-Boas is looking forward to.

"I'm extremely happy [about his return from injury]," the Spurs boss told the club's official website.

"It's been a long time out for a player of Aaron's importance and the team is delighted with his return.

"He's proved year after year how important he is for us and to have him back is a major plus."

When questioned about the likelihood of a return to action against Villa, the 35-year-old remained coy.

"Let's see how he works on the international break," he added.

"Azza [Aaron] has kept his fitness very high with our medical department." --------------- goal.com
