Galliani demands referee apology after AC Milan loss

The Rossoneri's poor start to the 2013-14 campaign continued on Sunday, yet the club's CEO was quick to point the blame at the official following their latest defeat

Adriano Galliani has hit out at referee Paolo Valeri in the wake of AC Milan's 3-2 Serie A loss against Parma on Sunday.

The Milan CEO criticised Valeri's decision not to award the Rossoneri a penalty during the game, while he also blamed the official for Parma midfielder Marco Parolo's match-winning strike well into stoppage time.

And now Galliani is seeking an apology from the referee.

"Aside from the fact that we were denied two penalties, the free kick that resulted in the 3-2 victory for Parma was also taken from the wrong position, which was clear for all to see," Galliani fumed to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I won't go on about those two obvious penalties, but I think we deserve an apology and an explanation from the referee before we can close this chapter.

"I don't want people to interpret our cautious stance toward refereeing mistakes as a sign of weakness."

Milan have dropped to 10th place in Serie A following this weekend's results. ------------- goal.com
