The goals flowed this weekend as Nigerian strikers got goals in Spain, Turkey and in Belgium

ENGLAND
Victor Moses was absent for Liverpool in their emphatic 4-1 victory over West Brom on Saturday though Victor Anichebe was on for all 90 minutes for the Baggies in their heaviest defeat this season. Mikel Obi came on for Frank Lampard in Chelsea’s fortuitous 2-1 victory over Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Sunday in the 66th minute. It was the Nigerian’s fifth league appearance in the 2013/14 Premier League season.
Peter Odemwingie was part of the Cardiff city team that drew 0-0 away to Norwich on Saturday. He was shown a yellow card in the 23rd minute and was replaced at the start of the second half by Don Cowie. Odemwingie has scored one league goal this season.
Sone Aluko was absent in Hull City’s 1-0 away loss to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. Aluko is nursing a slight ankle injury.
SPAIN


Ikechukwu Uche was back to his best on Sunday for Villarreal as he scored to help the Yellow Submarine subdue Valencia 4-1. Uche opened the scoring in the 17th minute through an assist by Giovanni dos Santos. He repaid the compliment for the Mexican in the 49th minute as Santos scored the third goal off a goal-bound header by Uche. Some commentators gave the goal to the Nigerian but video replays suggest that the Mexican got the decisive touch. Ramon Azeez started his first match for Almeria on Sunday though they were heavily defeated 3-0 away from home by Real Sociedad. The former junior international played all 90 minutes but could not help the newly promoted side. Almeria stay last on the league table with three points from 10 matches.
Nosa Igiebor played all 90 minutes for Real Betis as Atletico Madrid hammered them 5-0 at the Estadio Vicente Calderón. Igiebor got a yellow card in the 20th minute. The Nigerian has scored once this season while Odion Ighalo was an unused substitute for Granada as they lost 2-0 at home to Getafe.
FRANCE
Vincent Enyeama has now gone 585 minutes without conceding a goal in Ligue 1 as he helped Lille to a 1-0 away win over fourth placed Nantes last Friday. Enyeama is yet to concede after conceding two against Nice on September 15, going six games without conceding.
In the match on Friday, he made two saves but the most telling was in the 81st minute when he saved Fernando Aristeguieta's right footed attempt from the top right corner of the goal.
TURKEY

Emmanuel Emenike contined his good form for Fenerbahce as he helped the Yellow Canaries to a 3-1 home win over Gaziantepspor on Friday.
His first goal in the 14th minute was through a header though he could be said to have been marginally offside. He was also involved in Fenerbahce's second goal that was scored by Moussa Sow in the 39th minute.
Emenike crowned his good work on the day with the third and clincher in the 85th minute. The goal was created by good work down the left flank by Salih Ucan, who dribbled past two defenders before laying the ball on a plate for the Nigerian to tap home with his left foot.
The win moves Fenerbahce to 22 points from nine matches and Emenike’s goal haul to three in five league appearances but his compatriot, Joseph Yobo was missing as he is recuperating from an injury.
John Utaka played all 90 minutes for Sivasspor in their 2-0 away win over Kayseri Ecriyesspor also on Friday.
Michael Eneramo was missing for Besiktas in their 3-3 draw away to Akhisar Belediyespor on Saturday. Eneramo has played just two games this season – 153 minutes in total.
Godfrey Oboabona started his second league game for Rizespor on Sunday away to Eskişehirspor and they were pounded 4-1. Uche Kalu also started for Rizespor – the fourth time in the league but he was substituted at the beginning of the second half by Leonard Kweuke, who scored Rizespor’s consolation goal.
Also on Sunday, Taye Taiwo helped Bursaspor to a rare away win as they beat Konyaspor 1-0 to move to 10th on the league table with 14 points.
UKRAINE

Michael Babatunde played all 90 minutes for Volyn in their 2-1 away loss to Sevastopol on Sunday. The Super Eagles fringe player has scored twice for his club in the league this season. Volyn are placed 13th in the 16-team league. Dynamo Kiev struggled past llichivets 1-0 on Sunday to lift them to fifth on the league table. Lukman Haruna started on the bench but came on for Sergiy Sydorchuk in the 67th minute and was yellow carded a minute later. Dynamo got their goal from a penalty kick in the 82nd minute through Oleg Husyev. Haruna has three goals and his compatriot Brown Ideye who has been sidelined with an injury after serving his suspension from a red card has one league goal.
RUSSIA

Obinna Nsofor started his first match of the 2013/14 season for Locomotiv Moscow on Sunday away to Rubin Kazan which they won 2-1. Nsofor played the first half before Maicon replaced him in the 46th minute. Nsofor has played three league games this season – a total of 96 minutes and he is yet to score. Locomotiv are second on the league table with 30 points; five from leaders, Zenit. CSKA Moscow got back to winning ways by smashing five goals past Krasnodar on Sunday but Ahmed Musa was not on the scorer’s list though he played all 90 minutes. He has relinquished the top striker’s slot to returnee Seydou Doumbia, who scored one of the five goals. Musa is now the joint-top scorer with Doumbia on five goals.
BELGIUM

Standard Liege maintained their lead at the top of the Jupiler League by holding Anderlecht to a 1-1 draw on Sunday at the Stade Constant Vanden Stock. Sacha Kljestan had given Anderlecht the lead in the first minute but Imoh Ezekiel equalized for the visitors in the 36t minute.
That was the Nigerian’s sixth league goal of the season and it helped the Rouge stay three points ahead of Genk with 29 points from 12 games.
Michael Uchebo scored again fro Cercle Brugge on Friday but his team was held 1-1 away by Gent. The 1.94m tall striker scored his second consecutive league goal in Belgium – the first in his European career.  Uchebo scored last week against Zulte Waregem in another 1-1 draw.
Cercle have thus moved to the 12th position on the league table with 11 points from 12 games.
ITALY

Ogenyi Onazistarted and played all 90 minutes for Lazio in their 2-0 home win over Cagliari on Sunday. It was the Nigerian’s seventh league appearance in which he is yet to score though he has scored in the Europa League. Joel Obi was again on the bench for Parma for all 90 minutes as they beat AC Milan 3-2 on Sunday. Parma scored the winner through Marco Parolo in the 94t minute. Obi has played just once in the league and it was a substitute appearance against Catania on September 22.
GREECE
Naturalized Bulgarian, Shaloze Udoji Chigozie scored for Aris Thessaloniki in their 2-1 home loss to Platanias on Sunday. It was Chigozie’s fourth league goal of the season. John Ibeh also played for Aris and I Stavropoulos replaced him in the 57th minute. Ibeh, a midfielder, has played six league games with no goal to show.
Former U-21 captain, Abdul Ajagun started for Panathinaikos in their 2-0 away win over Ergotelis on Saturday. It was the Nigerian’s fifth league appearance after his transfer from Dolphins and he has already scored once.
NORWAY

Aaron Olanare scored his fifth league goal on Sunday as his club, Sarpsborg 08 were held to a 2-2 draw away to Odd Ballklubb. Olanare got a yellow card in the 23rd minute before scoring the first equalizer in the 44th minute. Sarpsborg are in the relegation zone with 28 points from 28 matches. ---------------------- goal.com
