A tweet from Olympic gold medal winner Linford Christie may have given the game away with regards the Gunners' new look.
Arsenal agreed the most lucrative kit contract in British football in May, when they inked a deal with manufacturers Puma that will earn them £30 million per annum, over five years beginning at the end of the current season.
So
far, potential designs for the new kit have been a closely-guarded
secret, but Christie posted a picture of himself with fellow Puma
ambassador and Gunners legend Henry wearing the shirt.
Arsenal stars Olivier Giroud and Bacary Sagna were also in the photograph - before Christie swiftly removed the picture from his Twitter account.
Arsenal's
new deal with Puma begins next summer and signals the end of a 20-year
association with Nike, whose seven year, £55 million deal reaches a
conclusion at the end of the current campaign.
The new association
tops the £25 million per year deal Liverpool have with American
manufacturers Warrior, as well as the 15-year, £287 million partnership
between Nike and Manchester United. Just like old times: Thierry Henry poses in the Arsenal away kit for the 2003/ 2004 season
