Godfrey Oboabona has finally made his debut for Rizespor in the Super Liga
The Super Eagles defence Trojan made his long-awaited debut in the Super Liga on Monday night and was on for 90 minutes
Super Eagles and Rizespor defender Godfrey Oboabona got a feel of the Super Liga on Monday when his team hosted Besiktas in a Turkish league.The former Sunshine Stars of Akure skipper, who held sway in the Eagles’ backline few days ago against the Walia Antelopes of Ethiopia, was handed a starter's shirt by manager, Riza Calimbay and he justified his inclusion by giving out a world class performance in the tension-soaked encounter.
Oboabona was due to make his debut in this league several weeks back but no thanks to the unavailability of his International Transfer Certificate which makes him eligible to play after leaving Sunshine Stars.
Though his side played out a goalless draw against Besiktas, it was enough to retain his club on the fourth rung of the Turkish league with 14 points.
