Del Bosque excited over Diego Costa's Spain future

La Roja's boss was enthusiastic at the prospect of the Atletico Madrid striker appearing for his side and played down the Twitter row between Gerard Pique and Alvaro Arbeloa
Vicente del Bosque has hailed the potential addition of Diego Costa to Spain's international fold after the Atletico Madrid forward expressed his wish to switch his national allegiance away from Brazil.
Despite being born in Brazil and appearing for the Selecao during two non-competitive matches, the 25-year-old has made clear his desire to represent the reigning world and European champions at international level.
And Costa’s decision was welcomed by Del Bosque, who told Marca: "He [Costa] is a noble and good guy. If he wants to come, it will be with all our blessings. With him we have a striker for many years."
Spain face Belarus on Friday night in Mallorca, with a win virtually assuring la Roja of a spot in Brazil for the 2014 World Cup, and Del Bosque hinted that Iker Casillas could return between the posts after recovering from injury.
"I have already decided who will be goalkeeper, maybe the minutes that [Iker] Casillas has played could be enough to start," he said.
The 62-year-old was also quick to play down tension between Gerard Pique and Alvaro Arbeloa, after the pair were involved in a heated exchange on Twitter following Real Madrid's controversial win over Elche.
"I was not worried about the message exchange," he continued. "It was a joke, nothing more, nothing harmful to us. They are just two young boys." ----------------- goal.com
