Brazil coach Scolari: Neymar fit and ready to start

The Barcelona forward hobbled out of training yesterday but Felipao has confirmed he has recovered and is ready to face South Korea on Saturday
Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has confirmed that Neymar has recovered from the knock he took in training on Thursday and is fit to start against South Korea tomorrow.

The Barcelona forward hobbled out of yesterday's session after clattering into a team-mate and was replaced by Hulk.

But despite fears that he would miss his side's upcoming Gillette Brasil Global Tour dates with the Taegeuk Warriors and Zambia, Scolari confirmed in Friday's press conference that the 21-year-old is fully fit and raring to go.

"Neymar’s fully recovered. There will be no problem with him starting tomorrow," assured Felipao.

Scolari went on to reveal that he plans to give Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva 30 minutes in Seoul on Saturday and also suggested that Hulk will likely beat Ramires to a starting berth.

"There will be enough opportunities for Lucas in the future. I'm still watching him. Not only Lucas but also the other players who can play if they prove that they deserve it. I always want to see 100 per cent from my players.

"Hulk is stronger in attack, but Ramires can add balance to a team. I prefer to play with Hulk as we can make a stronger start, but I can always change team and formation according to our opponents."

The Selecao coach also recalled some fond memories of South Korea, where his Brazil side played all three group games en route to the 2002 World Cup title.

"Those memories are still very vivid," he said.

"I feel good here. I also had wins here when I was in charge of Juventude. I have only experienced victory here. Now I want to create another good memory with another victory." ------------ goal.com
