German side Wolfsburg have admitted they would be interested in Manchester United's Shinji Kagawa and Chelsea's Kevin De Bruyne - if they become available.
Sporting director Klaus Allofs told German newspaper Bild that the club wants to complete "reasonable transfers" in January as they continue to strengthen their squad.
And he named Kagawa and De Bruyne as two players who the Bundesliga side could consider looking at.
The Manchester United midfielder has had limited first-team opportunities since David Moyes arrived as manager, featuring in six games this season.
Earlier this month, he told reporters in Japan: "Personally, I felt strongly after these two matches that I need to play more and, as a team, there are many things we need to do."
"At Werder, I have seen just how good de Bruyne is, and at Dortmund we have seen how well Kagawa can do," Allofs told the news provider.
"If such players are possible, you of course think about them.
"But we should not raise the hopes of our fans. In the end they comment: 'Once again, you failed to sign him'."
