Conte revels in Juventus clean sheets

The 44-year-old saw his team dismantle the Rossazzurri, but it's the Bianconeri's defending which Conte has drawn most satisfaction from

Juventus boss Antonio Conte has expressed his happiness that his team have re-discovered their defensive solidity following the 4-0 victory over Catania in Turin on Wednesday.

Arturo Vidal and Andrea Pirlo fired the Bianconeri to a 2-0 half-time lead, before further strikes from Carlos Tevez and Leonardo Bonucci added gloss to the scoreline.

It was the defensive aspect of his team's performance which seemingly left the biggest impression, though, as Conte revelled in watching his team keep the opposition at bay for the second successive game following the 2-0 win over Bologna.

"This was our fourth game in 10 days and we’ve got another three testing encounters ahead of us," the 44-year-old told the club's official website.

"We needed to start keeping clean sheets and have managed to do so in our previous two games."

The Italian giants face a rigorous schedule in the coming weeks, with clashes against Napoli and Real Madrid, however, the two-time Scudetto winning coach is refusing to look beyond Sunday's test against Parma.

He added: "Now we’ll think about one game at a time.

"Parma is a tough venue, somewhere where Milan have recently been defeated. We’ll begin to focus on Real from Sunday onwards."

Conte's men sit third-placed in Champions League Group B, seven points adrift of the Spanish giants, who they host in Turin on November 5. ------------------ goal.com
