Mystery of Manchester United star Robin van Persie's running feud with Stoke's Ryan Shawcross
First-half dispute continued at half-time and after the game - and even saw the defender booked in the dressing room
Robin van Persie had a verbal bust-up with Ryan Shawcross following Manchester United’s 3-2 win over Stoke.
The pair clashed on the pitch at Old Trafford - as our photos show - and continued their spat at half-time AND after the final whistle.
They were involved in a tussle just before the interval, when Stoke defender Shawcross appeared to grab United striker Van Persie around the neck at a corner.
Shawcross then barged into the Dutchman as the two sides left the pitch at the break, with the pair continuing their verbal exchange in the tunnel.
Ref Lee Mason booked the Potters' star in the dressing room at half-time, but the feud carried on after the final whistle.
Shawcross twice asked him to repeat what he said, but witnesses said the former Arsenal star ignored him.
Stoke manager Mark Hughes said: “Ryan was booked in the dressing room. I’ve no idea why. I’ve never known anyone get booked in the dressing room before.”
