Former Nigeria international, Friday Ekpo, has posited that the Flying Eagles may end up playing in the final game of the on-going FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey in spite of the sticks they have been receiving from some soccer-loving Nigerians due to their recent uninspiring performance.
Ekpo insists that Obuh’s boys are as good as any other team in the tournament and can even go as far as winning the trophy.

“The fact that the Flying Eagles started their campaign with a shaky performance in this tournament does not mean they would end up being like that throughout. It is true they failed to win their first group game against Portugal, but beyond that, they were not as that bad in that encounter as some people said about it.”

“The truth is that we don’t always exercise patience in this country with our national teams whenever they are out there on national duties. For me, at this competition, the Flying Eagles have not done badly so far and I can see that they are improving in every game they play.”
