The Argentina centre-back has been a long-term target and the Old Trafford outfit can now finally tie up the deal
David Moyes officially starts at Manchester United today – and he has the green light to sign Benfica’s Ezeguiel Garay.
The Argentina centre-half has been on the radar since February - as revealed by MirrorSport - and a £17million swoop has moved closer after Benfica lined up his replacement.

Moyes wants a new centre-half, despite having a handful of options and he will be given the money to land his target, but sources in Lisbon suggest a second Premier League club is interested in Garay and may pounce once the price is set.
Moyes is also still trying to close a deal for Leighton Baines, his left-back when he was at Everton.
