time is right
Former Manchester United goalkeeper Mark Bosnich has hit back at Sir Alex Ferguson after the Scot labelled Bosnich "a terrible professional."
Ferguson slammed Bosnich's eating habits in his autobiography , and later claimed in a press conference to promote the launch of his book that he failed to even arrive on time for training on his first day at the club.
"Mark got off to a real bad start," he revealed.
"He turned up for training three hours late. He was overweight," Fergie added at the press conference to launch the book.
But Bosnich wants his former boss to fly to Australia and speak to him "face-to-face", and defended himself against Ferguson's slurs.
“The bottom line is that I am still the only player that Sir Alex Ferguson ever signed twice during his time at Manchester United," Bosnich told The Daily Telegraph.
“In my second spell at the club, we won the Premier League title by a margin of 18 points and also became the first British team to become world champions by beating Palmeiras in Tokyo.
“I will always view my time at United as the most special and interesting period of my life and I would not be in the position I am today had Sir Alex not signed me as a 16-year-old.
“I will be forever grateful for that and I dearly hope that Sir Alex visits Australia so that I can see him face-to-face.”
Bosnich reserved some reverence for his former United manager, but vowed that he will respond to Ferguson's claims properly when the time is right.
“I am honoured to be mentioned in Sir Alex Ferguson’s autobiography,” “I suggest that everybody goes out and buys the book and forms an opinion on it.
“Because at the appropriate time, I will have my right to reply about those events and other things."
