Fellow Scousers Jamie Carragher and Wayne Rooney 'give me the most stick' reveals Steven Gerrard
The Liverpool captain says that his fellow Scousers are the worst when it comes to banter around the training ground
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has revealed that Wayne Rooney and
Jamie Carragher are the worst for "giving cheek" at the training ground.
After captaining the Reds for over a decade, and making over 100 appearances for England, Gerrard could perhaps consider himself worthy of instant respect amongst his peers.
However, he revealed that there are two players who are constantly on his back - his fellow Scousers Rooney and Carragher.
The England skipper told Liverpool's official website: "Jamie Carragher used to give me the most cheek around here (Liverpool's Melwood complex).
"He used to give me the most stick and it's probably Wayne Rooney with England.
"It's because they're local lads, Scousers as well as me, and they have the same humour as myself."
Gerrard, who was speaking on episode five of Liverpoolfc.tv's Kop Kids programme, also offered his advice to young children hoping to one day make it to the professional ranks.
"The advice I give to kids is to keep practising as much as you can," added Gerrard.
"Your school teachers, and your PE teachers, and the people you work with, listen to them for advice.
"Keep watching as much football as you can and pick up all the little tips that you can from all the good players."
Gerrard recently scored his 100th Premier league goal in the 2-2 draw against Newcastle United.
