With the major tournament in Brazil now only
months away from kicking off, la Roja's coach has set his sights on the
in-form Real Madrid attacker
The Real Madrid forward has been in fine form since the winter break, scoring four goals and bagging one assist in his five starts for the Blancos in 2014.
The 20-year-old's impact for Carlo Ancelotti's title-chasers has not gone unnoticed and Del Bosque has hinted that Jese could be making waves in the World Cup holders' squad for this summer's tournament in Brazil.
"All of the players who we have been looking at and who have been playing well are potential candidates for the national team," the 63-year-old told media on Thursday.
"I don’t like to single out any one player in particular or mention any names but in general, a number of players have the possibility of being called up and Jese is amongst them."
Spain have been grouped with Netherlands, Chile and Australia in the World Cup, but are next in action at home to Italy in a March friendly. -------------- goal.com
