Magistrate explains decision to grant Oscar Pistorius bail

Chief Magistrate Desmond Nair sets out the reasoning behind his decision to award bail to South African athlete Oscar Pistorius, who is accused of murdering his girlfriend on Valentine's Day.

South African athlete Oscar Pistorius was awarded bail on Friday after being accused of murdering his girlfriend.

Chief Magistrate Desmond Nair spent almost two hours setting out the reasoning behind his decision to award bail to South African athlete Oscar Pistorius, who is accused of shooting dead his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Feb 14.

Mr Nair ruled Pistorius was not a flight risk and did not pose a danger to society after an emotionally charged four-day bail hearing.

The decision drew cheers from Pistorius' family and supporters at the Pretoria magistrate's court, although athlete was unmoved when the decision was read.


First of, let me say that i detest the decision to grant him bail cos u want 2 wonder why someone that has agreed to the murder of his girlfriend albeit accidental be granted bail.
And i also can't help but wonder what Oscar is going out of custody 2 do; perharps he wants 2 go kill another lady?
His frantic efforts 2 get bail only points 2 d fact that he is not remorseful at all; and that means he wudn't give a damn about killing again - i mite be wrong but pls don't judge me; at least grant me bail out of that little mind prison of urs...
He shud be locked up for life at least 2 guarantee the safety of every lady out there period... or what do u think, pls drop a comment...
