Bacary Sagna is set to be the next big name departure from Arsenal this summer.
Sagna, 30, a major injury doubt to face Aston Villa tomorrow (SAT), is believed to be navigating his exit route with Arsene Wenger making a right back one of his priorities in his rebuilding plans.
The Gunners are eyeing Feyenoord’s Dutch right back Daryl Janmaat, 23, as a potential replacement as his scouts are on alert to find a new first choice.
Janmaat, who has won three Dutch caps, joined from Heerenveen last summer and has been watched by Arsenal who already have a partnership with Feyenoord which has seen them loan players and work together.
France right back Sagna, whose contract expires in 2014, is looking at options which include Paris Saint Germain, Inter Milan and interest from the Middle East.
Arsenal have made a move to extend Sagna’s contract but only a one-year extension has been discussed which is unlikely to be enough, especially after the player was left out of the club's 2013 calendar.
Sagna has been one of the top right backs in the Premier League since arriving but two broken legs in a year has taken a toll. He picked up an injury against Bayern Munich and Carl Jenkinson is likely to deputise tomorrow.
Gunners boss Wenger even admitted that Sagna has had to play through the pain barrier and says he is still on his way back.

Wenger said recently: “I am convinced that he will play at centre-back more often at some stage - although not yet, because he is only just 30 and certainly has three or four years left at right-back.
“He has criticised his own form recently but the things you never question from Bac are his commitment, his mental attitude, his desire to win and his intelligence.
“If he has not been playing as he would expect, it is down to his injury. It takes time to come back, and he has played through a lot of pain - in fact, he is one of the strongest players I have met when it comes to doing that.
“He’s hugely respected here, and if he’s not at the level we know he can achieve then we are tolerant because we know it’s not down to a lack of commitment - it’s just because he has come back from a long-term injury.”
Wenger has already been told he has got £70m to spend this summer as the Arsenal hierarchy reiterated their support at a board meeting yesterday (Thurs).
As Mirror Sport revealed yesterday, Wenger still has their total faith and backing with a clear message of everyone being in it together being passed down from the whole board.

American tycoon Stan Kroenke has been in London this week for the Bayern game and also the board meeting and the club remains committed to Wenger.
Arsenal have lost big-name players in recent seasons and Robin van Persie’s departure last summer hit them hard on the back of Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri and Alex Song.
Sagna would be the latest in a long line but his injuries may have taken their toll and now there is a will to rebuild the Arsenal squad as they want a new spine of the team.
Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina, Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue - also a target for Everton - and Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic are among their targets.
Wenger will be given big cash and also has England prospect Jenkinson but believes the squad needs another right back to challenge him and potentially be ready immediately to succeed Sagna. -----Culled from MIRROR FOOTBALL.

Arsenal and Arsene don't seem 2 learn anything from the past hence the dismal returns they hv been churning out for years now.
The stakeholders at Arsenal hv unwittingly turned the club into some kind of feeder team for the more successful European teams and i feel very sorry for all their fans.

Anyway, back to the business of the day: DO U THINK SAGNA WILL BE MISSED AT ARSENAL?
Pls leave a comment and let us know ur tots on this issue...
