Arsene Wenger and Arsenal handed boost as Mikel Arteta returns to training ahead of Stoke match
The midfielder could make the bench for Sunday's clash as the Gunners boss praises the quality of Mark Hughes's side
Mikel Arteta has given Arsenal a huge fitness boost by making a remarkable return from injury.
Arsenal midfielder Arteta is due back in full training today and could make the bench against Stoke on Sunday.
That is nearly a month early after Arteta tore a thigh muscle in training days before the start of the season and is a major lift for Arsene Wenger's depleted squad.
Wenger said: "Arteta could come back. He is a leader, he is important, he will train today and then we will decide tomorrow. We have a lot of games coming up so it's important that we have some players coming back."
Wenger praised Stoke's "quality" as they have started well under new boss Mark Hughes and the Guners boss is wary about too getting carried away after Arsenal's impressive start which has suggested they have title credentials.
"It's always difficult to change a style of a team as Stoke have done. For me as well it shows Stoke have good players. When they are capable to adapt, it's always a sign of quality. They look as if they have adapted remarkably quickly."

"I believe we have a chance (of the title)," said Wenger. "My
full energy is to try and grab the chance and take the opportunity. You
have to be a bit cautious because one defeat and it quickly becomes a
crisis."It's always difficult to change a style of a team as Stoke have done. For me as well it shows Stoke have good players. When they are capable to adapt, it's always a sign of quality. They look as if they have adapted remarkably quickly."
