Keshi won’t name large World Cup squad

The Super Eagles head coach has disclosed that he will not be naming a 40-man squad to avoid distraction for his preparation for Brazil
Coach Stephen Keshi has disclosed he would not be announcing a 40-man Nigeria squad for the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.
The former Togolese head coach led the Super Eagles to a third place finish at the just concluded African Nations Championship in South Africa.
According to him, inviting such a large squad will only amount to distraction.

"I don't need a 40-man squad. I just need a number that will not distract us from what we want to do but it won't be up to 40,” Keshi told Kickoffnigeria.com.
He also stated that he will be inviting some players from the bronze-winning CHAN squad to battle for shirts.
"I have from one to five players from this [CHAN] team that will be in that team.
"Everybody will have equal opportunities to get in the team that goes to the World Cup, so everybody will have to work hard.
"They were great. People don't realize how hard these boys worked. But they gave everything and I'm proud of them," he concluded.
Nigeria will play a  warm up match against Mexico on March 5 in Houston, Texas. ------------- goal.com
