Arsene Wenger will be without right back Bacary Sagna for the visit of Hull on Wednesday.
Carl Jenkinson is set to come in as Wenger admitted he will rest and rotate some of his squad as they prepare for a huge week with Hull, followed by Everton, Napoli and then Manchester City.
Wenger said: “I believe we will lose Sagna who has a slight hamstring problem and he should be out for tomorrow's game. Jenkinson is likely to come back, yes.”
But there is better news on German forward Lukas Podolski who has been out since August with a hamstring problem.
“Lukas Podolski should be back in normal training after the Hull game,” said Wenger.
Wenger insisted Arsenal were not in for either Real Madrid starlet Alvaro Morata or Alexandro Pato.
But the Frenchman claimed that no-one should write off Manchester United just yet even though they are nine points behind and rank outsiders in the odds. He also challenged his own team to keep up their consistency.
“The bookies have an opinion that you can understand because they just look at the table,” said Wenger. ”I wouldn't rule some other teams out like Man United. It's a bit early to make any prediction on the championship.
“What is more at stake for us is consistency that we have shown until now. To transfer that in the next games that are coming up because it's a very difficult month we have in front of us and if we can maintain the quality in our game, the concentration and the solidarity level then we have a chance.
