The Warri Wolves midfielder is the only Nigeria to be shortlisted by the Confederation of Africa Football for the best Africa-based player award
Nigeria midfielder Sunday Mba has made the list for the Confederation of African Football African Player of the Year for players based on the continent.
The Enugu  Rangers player who scored the winner for Nigeria against Burkina Faso in the final of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa in February is the only Super Eagles player to be given a look in by the continent’s football ruling body.
Orlando Pirates, Al Ahly and TP Mazembe account for three players on the list that also includes players from Coton Sport, Stade Malien and CS Sfaxien.
The winners will be announced at the Glo-CAF Awards Gala scheduled for Thursday, January 9, 2014 in Lagos, Nigeria.
