'Victor Moses will have his time' - Joseph Dosu

The former Super Eagles goalkeeper believes the Liverpool forward still has years ahead of him to be crowned as Africa’s best player

As Nigerians continue to frown at the exclusion of Super Eagles winger Victor Moses from the list of nominees for the Africa Footballer of the Year award by the Confederation of African Football, former international Joseph Dosu has predicted that the Liverpool winger will get a mention in subsequent editions.

Moses was named the Footballer of the Year at the Nigeria Sports Awards in Lagos on Tuesday.
The Atlanta '96 Olympic winning goalkeeper believes the ex-Wigan forward still has many years ahead of him to be crowned the best footballer on the continent.
“I was shocked that he was not shortlisted by Caf, I think that is not the end of his life. He is still young and has what it takes to win it in years to come. He should move on and concentrate on his football career,” Dosu told Goal.
“I think Caf knows why his name wasn’t there but the good thing is that we have about five players to compete for the honour. The most important thing is for him to keep doing well and one day he will surely be mentioned,” he said.
When asked which of the short-listed Super Eagles players - John Obi Mikel, Emmanuel Emenike, Vincent Enyeama, Sunday Mba and Ahmed Musa - stand the best chance of wearing the crown as Africa’ best, the former Reggiana player reflected that any of the five names deserve to win.
“The five nominees have done well for both club and country. Any of them stand a chance of winning it,” concluded Dosu.
The last time three Nigerians made the top three was in 1997 when the trio of Victor Ikpeba, Sunday Oliseh and Austin Okocha were shortlisted. -------------- goal.com

I hope he makes the best of his world cup debut...
