Kano Pillars new coach, Okey Emordi has officially resumed duties after agreeing a season contract as technical adviser of the club.
The club’s spokesperson, Idris Malikawa who confirmed to Goal, said that the former Enugu Rangers gaffer began his coaching functions with the club yesterday at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
According to him, the 2004 Caf Champions League title winner with Enyimba, commenced his duties after being unveiled to the players and officials by the Technical Committee chairman of the club, Professor Rabiu Muhammed.
Speaking after the unveiling, Emordi pledged to justify the confidence reposed in him by the board of the club.
He promised he would work with any player that is ready to play to instructions.
“I am happy to be here. I am aware of the huge task ahead and for that will seek the cooperation of players and officials and, moreover, that of the people of Kano state,” Emordi said.
“I’m ready to work with any of the players that are prepared to work with me, and help the team to record great success. I promise the team will not disappoint and hope by God’s grace to achieve the club’s highest expectation by winning the CAF Champions League,” Emordi assured. -------------- goal.com
