Manchester City set to beat Barcelona to signature of 14-year-old Malaga wonderkid
Manuel Pellegrini has raided his former club for Morocco-born Brahim, who also holds a Spanish passport
Manchester City look set to win the race with Barcelona to sign a 14-year-old wonderkid, writes Dean Jones of the Sunday People.
Striker Brahim is leaving Spanish side Malaga to fly into England this week.
Barca introduced him to stars Andres Iniesta, Xavi and Lionel Messi as they twice tried to sign him.
But with the help of former Malaga chief Manuel Pellegrini, City have moved ahead and agreed a fee – and are on the verge of securing his signature.
Brahim is from Morocco but also has a Spanish passport, and believes he has a better chance of fulfilling his potential as part of the Etihad club’s academy.
