Conte snubs media following Coppa Italia win

Conte snubs media following Coppa Italia win
The 44-year-old was accused of ignoring a match-fixing attempt during the week and elected not to speak following his side's 3-0 victory over Avellino

Juventus coach Antonio Conte refused to speak to the media in the wake of his side's 3-0 win over Avellino on Wednesday.

The former Siena boss served a touchline ban last term for failing to report match-fixing activity during his time at the Tuscan club.

Ferdinando Coppola, a goalkeeper during Conte's time at the club, accused him of knowing of an attempt to fix a match between the Artemio Franchi outfit and AlbinoLeffe on May 29 and letting the players decide what to do.

Conte had released a statement slamming the allegations, which were widely picked up by Italian media, and duly refused to speak to reporters after his side's victory in Turin.

Meanwhile, Fabio Quagliarella scored his side's third goal of the straighforward Coppa Italia victory and spoke of his delight at having taken his first-team chance.

"We’re pleased. Tonight’s victory belongs to a group that always trains well and does everything our boss asks of us.

"The players change, but the result is the same. I’m also happy for my goal as it’s always satisfying to put in a good performance when called upon." --------------- goal.com
