`Fading motivation` prompted decision to retire from F1: Webber
Johannesburg: Red Bull driver Mark Webber has admitted that his fading motivation had prompted his decision to retire from Formula 1.

The 2013 US and Brazilian Grands Prix will be the final Grands Prix for Webber, who is switching to Le Mans sports cars to head Porsche `s new prototype foray, in a career spanning more than a decade, with 9 wins and 40 podiums.

According to Sport24, Webber admits that he was already starting to think about retirement in 2012 as he realised that he had been with Red Bull for a very long time, adding that although he courted a move to Ferrari, but ultimately decided last Christmas to quit F1

Stating that another factor behind his decision to retire was his fitness, Webber also said that he never had to be motivated to keep fit, although the urge to stay fit went away over the past year.

According to Webber, the desire to do other things other than F1 crept in increasingly, adding that he also wanted to spend more time with his family and friends. ANI -------------- ZEENEWS.com
