David Luiz is demanding an apology from Manchester City hero Sergio Aguero after his two-footed lunge during Chelsea’s FA Cup semi-final defeat.
Aguero launched his horror stamp after appearing to think he had been elbowed by Luiz. The City striker could face trial by television if referee Chris Foy admits he did not see the incident.
But Blues
defender Luiz insisted he would apologise if he had done the same and
claimed the flare-up set a bad example to kids watching the FA Cup semi
final on TV.
Luiz said: “I would apologise to everyone. Aguero is a great
player and I think he needs to be honest with himself and say: ‘I don’t
like to do bad tackles, I don’t like to do that.’ Ow's about that then? Sergio Aguero of City looks at David Luiz of Chelsea

“I forgive everyone in my life, people are happy when Aguero
is scoring goals, doing things in the game. Many people have said to me:
‘sorry this is not me and not good for the football.’ Many kids see the
game, watch the game and want to see good things and not bad things.”
It left Chelsea feeling bitter as City clinched a victory which sets up a final showdown with Wigan next month.
But disappointed Blues boss Rafa Benitez also claimed his side should have had a late penalty after Vincent Kompany’s late challenge on Fernando Torres.
Benitez
said: “We were disappointed not to score a goal, and with the penalty
not given - it was very clear and it was disappointing.”

City boss Roberto Mancini was full of praise for his players
and claimed he was on course to meet the targets set by his club but
warned England keeper Joe Hart he faces more Wembley heartbreak.
Hart
was left on the bench for the semi final in favour of his deputy, 6ft
8ins Romanian keeper Costel Pantilimon, who made a string of fine saves
to keep out Chelsea’s late fight back.
Mancini hails spare cat
Mancini
said: “He (Pantilimon) did very well, but he’s a good keeper and
deserves this. He’s worked very well behind Joe for two years, and it’s
very important that he played well for Joe, too. We have four weeks to
think about this, but I think it will be his (in the final). Big lad: Costel Pantilimon of Manchester City
Mike Hewitt
“Our target at the start of the season was the Premier
League. We knew the Champions League would be difficult because we had a
difficult group, but our targets were the Premier League and FA Cup.
“We
can be disappointed for the Premier League because we had the chance to
win another Premier League if we’d worked well last summer. But we
didn’t and made some mistakes, probably.
“But we are a good team.
We’ve got to the final of the FA Cup and we want to win it. We have a
chance to get in second place and show we don’t deserve to be 15 points
behind.”
