Tottenham are making a £10million bid for Hamburg's South Korean star
Son Heung-Min - but will have to raise their offer for the player seen
as a potential replacement for Gareth Bale. Spurs are now negotiating with the Bundesliga club for their talented attacker and hope to agree a price ahead of signing rivals in England and Europe.
Son
is seen as one of the major captures of the summer window and supremo
Daniel Levy is prepared to pay a big fee for the 21-year-old because his
value will is expected to soar.
Hamburg have resisted the opening bid but are under growing
pressure to trade as Son will not sign a new deal and has just 14 months
left before his deal runs out.
Son is in the Bale mould and Spurs
know if they land him they would have a possible long-term replacement
for the Welsh wizard if the offers for him become too great to resist.
The
German club are still holding out for more, but Spurs seem driven
towards pulling off the coup quickly and making a big investment for the
future.
Meanwhile, Andre Villas-Boas has reignited his interest in Porto winger Christian Atsu.
