The 31-year-old believes that his side should be
aiming for the German title every season and insists that the Bavarians
will not run away with the Bundesliga
Schalke midfielder Jermaine Jones is adamant that his side can challenge for the Bundesliga title this season. The Gelsenkirchen outfit endured a turbulent 2012-13, securing Champions League qualification on the final day of the season.
However, the USA international is optimstic that Jens Keller's side can challenge Bayern Munich's domestic dominance next term.
"Our aim should be to play for the German title. Part of football is having high ambitions and not having any fear that it won't work out," he told Kicker.
Bayern finished 25 points clear of Borussia Dortmund last term and have brought in the likes of Mario Gotze and Thiago Alcantara this summer.
However, Jones believes that the 2013-14 campaign is far from a foregone conclusion.
"It's great when everyone sees it that way before the season starts," Jones added when asked about the Bavarian giants' dominance.
"There is nothing better than to chase the team who are where you want to be." ------------------ goal.com
