Joe Kinnear’s not the only one who gets in a tangle when it comes to the names of Newcastle players.
Papiss Cisse’s sponsors Nike have unwittingly put the boot into the striker in an embarrassing gaffe.
Cisse,
already having a pre-season to forget after his refusal to wear the club’s Wonga shirt
, took a turn for the worse when he unwrapped his new pair of personalised £160 Hypervenom boots – to find ‘Sisse’ embossed
on them. The striker
soon became the butt of dressing room jokes from team-mates, who are
more used to director of football Kinnear mixing up their names. Back in the fold: Papiss Cisse is now in favour after coming to an agreement with the club

Posting a picture of the offending footwear on his Twitter site, Toon pal Sammy Ameobi said: “Well, that’s awkward.”
The
28-year-old hopes to have the correct spelling of his name on the boots
when he makes his first appearance of the season in tonight’s friendly
at Scottish side St Mirren.
Cisse
missed the club’s Portuguese training camp in the row over the new strip, claiming it compromised his Muslim religious beliefs.
