Okagbare Returns to London

Nigeria 100m champion,Blessing Okagbare is one of 16 top female
sprinters confirmed for the 11th meeting of the 2013 season of the IAAF
Diamond League on Friday and Saturday in London.
The meeting,tagged the Sainsbury's Anniversary Games to commemorate one year of the London 2012 Olympics Games is also a dress rehearsal for next month's 14th IAAF World Championships in Athletics in Moscow,Russia.
Okagbare will line-up against some of her London 2012 Olympics conquerors,Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica who won the 100m title in London and USA's Carmelita Jeter who holds the second fastest time of all time in the event.
The Nigerian failed to fulfil expectations of a podium appearance in London,coming last in the 100m race despite recording confidence-boosting wins against her rivals prior to the Olympics.
Also confirmed for the big showdown are Trinidad and Tobago's Kelly-Ann Baptiste who holds the fastest time in the world so far this year at 10.83 seconds,fast-rising Cote D'Ivoire's Ahoure Murielle who is two hundreth of a second faster than Okagbare this year at 10.91 seconds and Gardner English who ran 10.85 seconds,the second fastest time of the year to win the USA championships last month.
Fraser-Pryce tops the IAAF Diamond League rankings with 12 points followed by Okagbare who has six points while Bulgaria's Ivet Lalova (4 points) and Ahoure (3 points) are third and fourth respectively. ------------------- complete sports
